Engine tips
Slice buttons and panels as 9-patch so one sprite serves every size (Unity Sliced Image, Godot NinePatchRect). Author normal, hover, and pressed states as tint or 2 px offset variations rather than separate art. Because the styling is theme-agnostic, a single Modulate color in Godot reskins the entire kit per game.
